I appreciated the great communication, friendly approach, and the input but I also felt like the final decision was mine to make. Never felt like you were disappointed if I opted for plan B instead of Plan A. The attention to detail, in the end, made this a much more attractive house with some style to it rather than four walls and a roof which is the simple plan it is, is what it would have been.
This is probably the only time I’ll get to do a project like this and I’ll look back at it and think, “That roof change over the gable was a great idea”, “the higher pitch really makes a world of difference in that living room”, or “Those skylights really made that vaulted ceiling area bright and light instead of this huge dark void”. I won’t look back and think, “I wish we’d changed that roofline,” etc.
Glad to have your name on this one. I think people are going to drive by it like you do and think, “Wow, look at what they did with that house design.”
